Regina Wins Masters, Atlanta Pro Am & Athlete Of The Month
n the waterski world, it’s no secret. Regina Jaquess is killing it once again. After setting a new women’s slalom course record at The Masters with 3 buoys at 39-1/2 feet off, Regina clinched her second consecutive and fourth career women’s Masters slalom title on May 26. She also advanced to the finals of women’s jumping at The Masters, finishing in fourth place.
The day after, Regina also won the Open Women slalom title for the second consecutive year at the Ball Of Spray Atlanta Pro Am, scoring 4 buoys at 39-1/2 feet off on Princeton Lake. These accolades helped her win the USA Water Ski Female Athlete of the Month for May, which also makes her eligible for the United States Olympic Committee’s Athlete and Team of the Month honors.
“I am very excited I was able to repeat as Masters slalom champion, upping my course record by 1/2 a buoy,” Regina said. “And then to ski to another victory at the Atlanta Pro Am was super exciting.”
Regina already has her mind set on another goal. “I’m anxious and training hard for the Malibu Open, which is one of my favorite events. I’ll also be behind my favorite towboat and I would sure like to continue the winning streak with a repeat victory at the Malibu Open.”
