With over 70 pro victories, including four X Games gold medals, Dallas Friday is considered the best competitive female rider of all-time. 2004 would bring Dallas into the limelight more than anyone ever imagined, when she won an ESPY award for Best Female Action Sports Athlete. ESPN’s ESPY Awards recognize outstanding individual and team achievements and memorable performances in the world of sports. Not only was it a huge honor for Dallas, but a big victory for the sport of wakeboarding to be recognized on such a large stage.
Dallas has suffered what some thought to be career-threatening injuries, but her steel will has helped her overcome those injuries, to compete at the top of the sport once again. She has also taken an interest in wakesurfing, and was one of the first team riders to test SURF GATE in action. Dallas’ fun-loving attitude and sheer determination makes her a big inspiration to thousands of her fans worldwide, and she is definitely known as a legend in many circles.
