2009 Sunscape 21 LSV: Proves Malibu Won't Leave Well
Enough Alone
Malibu Boats has completely redesigned, the most popular Luxury Sport-V sold over the past ten years. The award-winning Sunscape 21 LSV is completely new for 2009. The success of Malibu Boats’ Sunscape 21 LSV did not stop the Malibu Research and Development Team from taking the model back to concept. The name remains the same, but everything else about this boat has been reengineered. Malibu designers were confident they could improve on the award-winning design and they have. This new Sunscape delivers soft flat slalom wakes at skiing speeds, churns up walls of water for wakeboarding and offers precise handling along with a level of luxury befitting only the World’s finest tow boats. The innovations calling the 21 LSV home are making this Malibu the #1 choice of multi-discipline water sports boating families all over again. This Sunscape’s new 21.5-foot Diamond Hull is designed to flatten and soften the wakes at skiing speeds as well as improve handling and ride. At wakeboard speeds this hull provides a great wakeboard wake that can be amplified with the available Patented Power Wedge. The new straight chine design perpetuates this boats extreme agility, while the degree of V at entry and twisted strakes provide a superior rough-water ride. The Sunscape 21 LSV’s interior has been lengthened by three inches and widened by an inch to maximize the space in this luxurious, storage-laden boat. With room for 12, the 21 LSV is the perfect size to bring everyone you enjoy boating with and their stuff. The lounge is infused with large finished storage areas beneath each seat. These gear enclosures are carpeted and lit for easy access. They also connect to more than 30 cubic feet of rear locking storage for easy storage of skis, surfboards or other long items. Thoughtful storage bins reside above the engine and transmission to make use of otherwise wasted space. A 60-quart self-draining ice chest is located behind the driver’s seat, while the mid-ship ski locker and observer seat storage swallow even more gear. The 21 LSV radiates a sophisticated yet aggressive sense of style with a new customizable two-tone upholstery design. The custom colored and multi-textured vinyl is 38 ounces in weight and supported with three distinct densities of foam for maximum bounce-back and comfort. Interior amenities like cast stainless steel grab handles, new available Rockford Fosgate Speakers, oversized sized stainless cup holders, hand-upholstered interior pieces and an optional rear LCD embedded MUX switch panel create a boat as accommodating on the inside as it is empowering in the water. And for those who spend more time in the driver’s seat than in the lounge, Malibu Boats has designed an experience just as lavish and intuitive. The Sunscape 21 LSV has a new hand-wrapped dash that incorporates the tools you have wished for to easily command boat functions. Two banks of MUX switches with LCDs join the available Malibu Rockford Fosgate Stereo System controls, traditional 5-inch Medallion gauges with built-in LCDs and a center-mounted LCD screen. These components are all mounted on the front of the new dash for extremely easy access and close inspection. The center LCD can be upgraded to a new 6.5” color LCD screen with 10-button navigation. MaliView, as this optional system has been named, adds elements of intuitive control, monitoring and customization to the 21 LSV as well as plays video from a number of sources. Family friendly features and options finish the new Sunscape’s design. Everything about this line of boats is focused on luxury, performance, convenience, safety and fun including the amenities. The removable table embraces easy entertainment. Use it for snacks or games, and then stow it in its custom rack in the rear storage area. The Walk-through Windblock provides a warm sanctuary for passengers by blocking the wind during those early morning runs. The available Walk-over Transom Step creates a worry-free footpath from the swimstep to the lounge. The optional Sport Seating configuration adds a swiveling captain’s chair to the passenger’s side. Malibu’s retractable swimstep ladder option makes getting out of the water easy for everyone. The optional underwater lights can illuminate those late-night swims. And the list goes on.
